Australian Snooker star Neil Robertson was in Bendigo today to help launch the first ever ranking tournament to be held in the country; the Australian Goldfields Open. Held during 18th-24th July 2011 it will be a full World Snooker event with prize money and ranking points to match.

At the end of the 2011/12 season, the top eight players (amateur or professional) on the PTC order of merit who have not already finished in the top 64 of the world rankings will get a place on the World Snooker tour for the 2012/13 season.

World Snooker today revealed the four players that would be joining the 96 other players on the main tour for the 2011/2012 season. They include Belgian star Luca Brecel and two-tims former Thailand Open champion James Wattana.
