Barry Hearn has warned players that they risk life bans if caught gambling on this year's World Championships. Last year's event was marred by claims that former champion John Higgins had agreed to lose frames for cash. He was cleared but served a disrepute ban.

Shaun Murphy didn't drop a single frame in either his matches today as he went on to beat Martin Gould 4-0 in tonights final for the Players Tour Championship grand finals. Murphy was also the leader on the order of merit for the PTC events so it is a deserving win for him.
