World Snooker's governing body held an EGM today to consider a new set of articles of association. The WPBSA (World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association) received 100 per cent support of votes in favour of the new constitutional changes.

Barry Hearn has warned players that they risk life bans if caught gambling on this year's World Championships. Last year's event was marred by claims that former champion John Higgins had agreed to lose frames for cash. He was cleared but served a disrepute ban.

Shaun Murphy didn't drop a single frame in either his matches today as he went on to beat Martin Gould 4-0 in tonights final for the Players Tour Championship grand finals. Murphy was also the leader on the order of merit for the PTC events so it is a deserving win for him.

Reanne Evans cruised to victory in the Connie Gough National Championship to extend her record run on the women’s snooker circuit to 84 matches without defeat. The six-time women’s world champion defeated Portsmouth ’s Emma Bonney 3-0 in the final at Fareham Snooker Club in Hampshire
