Masters champion Ding Junhui has accepted a fine of £2,000 for failing to notify Tournament Officials of a medical condition that resulted in him not competing to the best of his ability in Euro Players Tour Championship event three earlier this season.

It's nearly that time of year again, the Betfred.com World Snooker Championships! The Welsh Dragon Matthew Stevens has won a place in the Premier League later this year by beating Shaun Murphy 3-1 in the final of the Championship League Snooker winners group at Crondon Golf Park in Essex. It will be his first appearance in the event since 2002.

World Snooker Chairman Barry Hearn was in Thailand last week to announce the new PTT - EGAT Snooker World Cup 2011. The event in July in Bangkok will feature 20 teams of 2 players based on their current professional rankings.
