The WPBSA released a statement today regarding the first round match between Stephen Maguire and Jamie Burnett during the 2008 UK Championship.

PTC1 champion Ronnie O'Sullivan is eagerly anticipating competing in World Snooker's PTC Event Two at the South West Snooker Academy in Gloucester from 8-10 August 2011. The event will also feature most of the top professionals including John Higgins, Judd Trump and Neil Robertson.

'The Rocket' Ronnie O'Sullivan has won the first pro event of the season and his first event to carry ranking points since he took the 2009 Shanghai Masters title by beating 'Gentleman' Joe Perry 4-0 in the final of PTC1 at the Star Academy, Sheffield.

Full results from PTC1 at the Star Snooker Academy, Sheffield which runs from June 18-22. The 113 amateur players face two rounds of pre-qualifying matches to join the 93 professionals in the 3rd round on Monday.

Top amateur from last year's PTC events; Daniel Wells was already guarenteed a spot on the professional main tour by coming top of the Welsh rankings this year, but it didn't hold him back in the European Championships and he beat Ireland's Vincent Muldoon 7-4 to take this years men's title.

All qualifying matches at the South West Snooker Academy and up to and including the quarter finals at the Barbican, York will be best of 11 frames with the semi's at 17 and the final at 19 frames.

The draw for this season's first event; Players Tour Championship Event 1 (PTC1) at the World Snooker Academy was released today. Top ties include a repeat of the 1994 Thailand Open final between Steve Davis and James Wattana and Belgium prodigy Luca Brecel faces English pro Anthony Hamilton.

The draw for the inaugural PTT-EGAT Snooker World Cup 2011 in Bangkok was revealed today by World Snooker. Top seed Wales is represented by world no.1 Mark Williams and Matthew Stevens faces still competition in the form of Ireland's team; Ken Doherty and Fergal O'Brien in their group.
