European Snooker Championship 2011

The 2011 European Billiards and Snooker Association Snooker Championship is now underway in Sofia, Bulgaria. The winner of the mens event will receive the final free place on the professional main tour for the 2011/2012 season.

Amongst the competitors in this year's tournament is Germany's Lasse Munstermann, top amateur from the PTC events last season; Daniel Wells and Alex Kopel who is strangely from the USA.

Apart from the main event there is also an over 40's event that features former pro Darren Morgan who has won this event before and a ladies event. As well as a team event where the players get to represent their various countries.
