Welsh Open 2011 - Draw Revealed

Welsh Open 2011 - Draw Revealed

The draw for the 2011 Welsh Open qualifiers and the televised stages in Newport has been released by World Snooker. One of the most exciting possible ties include Jimmy White against Ronnie O'Sullivan and Welsh No.1 Mark Williams could face Marco Fu.

The Welsh Open has undergone a format change this year which brings in shorter matches. This should increase the chances of lower ranked players getting through the qualifying rounds.

Two such Welsh players that are looking to make their television debut's in front of their home crowds are Jamie Jones and Michael White. They have shown some promise in the PTC events this season so far and will be looking to beat the likes of Joe Swail and Marco Fu to set up a clash with local hero, Mark Williams.

Another player looking to make it through to Newport is Jimmy White. He has had his best season for years and is looking to reach his third venue by beating the likes of Robert Milkins and another local star Ryan Day to set up the tie of the first round with the Rocket, Ronnie O'Sullivan.
