Welsh Open Format Changed

World Snooker announced format changes to the 2011 Welsh Open tournament at the Newport Centre, Wales. Much better in my opionion.

It was annoucned today by World Snooker that the format for the Welsh Open would be changed from best of 9 frames in the first & second rounds, to best of 7 frames (quarters, semis and finals still 9,11 and 17 respectively).

Apart from meaning that the matches wont need a interval after the first 4 frames, this also is a great help to people watching on TV as they will only need 2 tables instead of 3 to play the matches on and both tables will be televised.

Hopefully EuroSport or BBC Wales will let us watch both tables, if not then hopefully table 2 will be available at all times on the BBC's website.
