Wizard of Wishaw John Higgins has successfully defended his Welsh Open title at the Newport Centre, Newport. By beating Stephen Maguire 9-6 in a high class, all Scottish final. He dedicated the victory to his father.

The results from tonights semi-final matches of the Wyldecrest Parks Welsh Open 2011. Defending champion John Higgins faced Ali Carter in a repeat of last year's final and Mark Selby was up against Stephen Maguire.
