Seniors World Championship: Day 2

Seniors World Championship: Day 2

Second day of the Seniors World Championship from the Cedar Court hotel in Bradford. Today we found out who made it to the semi finals and also one of the two players for tommorows final.

First quarter finals were played today and the seniors who made it through were Nigel Bond, Steve Davis, John Parrott and Jimmy White.

Then it was the first semi-final match in the evening between Steve Davis and Nigel Bond. Bond missed the penultimate red into the middle pocket to clinch the first frame. The pair then shared the next two frames between them. Bond nearly had a chance to make it 2-2 but after missing an escape from a snooker, Davis potted the final blue to clinch frame and match.

Davis now goes on to tommorows final and will play the winner of the White/Parrott match for the title of World Seniors Champion and £20,000

Quarter Finals:

Nigel Bond 2-0 Ken Doherty
Steve Davis 2-0 Joe Johnson
John Parrott 2-0 Dennis Taylor
Jimmy White 2-0 Cliff Thorburn

Semi-finals:

Steve Davis 3-1 Nigel Bond
