PTC7 PHOTOS - FRIDAY - SATURDAY - SUNDAY
Ronne O'Sullivan had won PTC1 earlier in the season at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield and once again took the £10,000 prize at the South West Snooker Academy, Gloucester. Being the first player to win two PTC titles in the same season, since the events started last year.
His opponent was former UK Champion Matthew Stevens who since winning the Championship League earlier in the season has found a rich vein of form and managed to qualify once again for the Crucible and reach the quarter-finals at the Shanghai Masters.
Breaks of 95 and 76 saw Ronnie take a 2-0 lead in the final before Matthew managed to steal a scrappy third frame on the colours to pull back to 2-1 behind in this best of 7 match.
Ronnie looked to be faltering slightly but he still managed to pull out a 53 break to lead the Welshman 3-1. Matthew hit back in the next and produced the only century of the final, a spectacular 127 break to keep himself in the game at 3-2 behind.
It was not to be for Matthew though as Ronnie produced a great break of 88 in the next frame to give Ronnie the match and the title of Kay Suzanne Memorial Trophy snooker champion 2011. Find out more about the event here.
The tournament was named the Kay Suzanne Memorial trophy in honour of academy owner Paul Mount's sister Kay Suzanne who had died of breast cancer. The players were wearing pink shirts in this event to raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer Care. The next PTC event which is the Alex Higgins International Trophy (PTC8) will be held in Killarney, Ireland on the 20th to 23rd of October. Find out more about it here.
