O'Sullivan Captures 10th Premier League Title

Winning the final this year means that Ronnie O'Sullivan has won the Premier League title seven times in the last eight years of the event, only losing once to Shaun Murphy in the final two years ago.

As evident in this tournament Ronnie is clearly at home with the format, particulary loving coming down to just play one night at a time and getting to return home on the same day which clearly suits him as he is known to get bored easily during long events especially at the World Championship.

Masters champion Ding Junhui definitely didn't have the run of the ball at times but whenever the matches went scrappy Ronnie managed to pick off the frames with ease and even though he made no century breaks he long-potting was impressive.

“That was brilliant. I played good and I know Ding didn’t play as good as he could. He had a bad kick luckily for me and did a decent clearance to take the frame and go 6-1,” said O’Sullivan.

“Ding did have a few chances and balls didn’t run for him but I had a bit of luck and made it count,” he added.

“He’s playing very good and I didn’t play better than last night’s semi-final and when you play Ronnie, you have to play your best,” said Ding.

“Last year I wasn’t going to play anymore but got my head right and was able to play on. Now I want to play and I’m enjoying it and that’s the most positive I’ve felt,” said O’Sullivan.

“This is one that’s always nice to win. It’s a fantastic crowd, a great weekend of snooker and hopefully it will set me up to win a few more this season,” he added.

This win will no doubt give Ronnie an extra confidence boost going in to the UK Championship next week and even closer there is a PTC event starting in Sheffield which Ronnie will no doubt be starting favourite for. He desperately could use some ranking points from the remaining three PTC events so he doesn't have to rely on his performances at the UK and Welsh Open to guarentee his spot in the top 16 for the Betfred.com World Champion.

Congratulations once again to Ronnie O'Sullivan, the Partycasino.com Premier League Snooker Champion 2011!
