John Higgins has won the first trophy of the 2013/2014 professional snooker season by coming from a frame down to beat Neil Robertson 4-1 in the final of the Victoria Bulgarian Open in front of a packed crowd in Sofia.

Yet another shock today at the Betfair World Snooker Championship 2013 at the Crucible, as Gloucester's Robert Milkins came from 5-4 down to beat former world champion Neil Robertson 10-8. Stuart Bingham also impressed in his match against newcomer Sam Baird.

The Northern Irish duo of Mark Allen & Joe Swail both made it through their matches on the first day of action at the Dafabet PTC Grand Finals 2013 in Galway, Ireland. 

It's an unlikely final for tomorrow's conclusion of the Betfair German Masters at the Berlin Tempodrom, as Ali Carter takes on Marco Fu. Neither player has won a major professional snooker tournament in several years.

After a terrific week of snooker in what has to be the best tournament of the season so far, the Betfair Masters final takes place at Alexandra Palace today as defending champion Neil Robertson and World No. 1 Mark Selby vie for the £175,000 top prize.

Thursday sees the first two quarter-finals of the Betfair Masters played at Alexandra Palace as Mark Allen takes on Neil Robertson in the afternoon session, and John Higgins clashes with Shaun Murphy in the evening.

Day 3 of the 2012 Williamhill.com snooker UK Championship in York and the last four matches from the first round were played. The big story was 17-year-old Belgian star Luca Brecel beating Ricky Walden in the evening.

Judd Trump has won the third ranking title of his career and became the new world no.1 in the process by beating Neil Robertson 10-8 in the final of the International Championship in Chengdu, China.
