Venue Chosen For PTC Finals

The venue for the televised Players Tour Championship finals has been chosen and Ireland is the lucky winner.

The venue that will host the PTC finals has been revealed on Dave Hendon's blog as the Helix Theatre in Dublin, Ireland. It will be Ireland's first professional tournament since the Irish Professional Championship was held in 2007.

The PTC finals will be on the 16th-20th of March and will feature the top 24 players on the order of merit. Top players already through to the finals include Shaun Murphy, Mark Williams, Mark Selby, Martin Gould, Barry Pinches and Stephen Maguire. Unfortunately PTC winners Ding Junhui and John Higgins didn't enter enough events to qualify for the finals.

I am personally really looking forward to this event as it will showcase some lesser known players that have done well in the PTC events this year and have made it into the top 24 on the order of merit. These include PTC winner Tom Ford, youngsters Jamie Jones and Jack Lisowski and another with a good chance of making it is amateur Daniel Wells, who isn't on the main tour this year and has performed constantly well to get to no.24 on the order of merit.
