UPDATED SHOOTOUT RESULTS - HERE

The Snooker Shoot-Out which was extremely popular for a multitude of reasons is back again next year at the Tower Circus Arena, Blackpool and the draw for the first round was made yesterday.

John Higgins Pink Ribbon Snooker

The top tie in the one frame shoot out is between last season's Betfred.com World Championship finalists John Higgins and Judd Trump. Judd will be favourite going in to that match due to his fast attacking style of snooker but John held himself well in last year's event. But as seen in last year's tournament when two players ranked outside the top 32 reached the final, anyone has a chance of winning best of one matches.

Jack Lisowski PTC7 Snooker

Those two finalists were the tournament winner Nigel Bond and Robert Milkins who have been drawn together again in the first round for this year's event. Other note worthy ties include multiple world champions Steve Davis and Mark Williams, attacking players Neil Robertson and Jamie Cope, top 16 veterans Ali Carter and Matthew Stevens and an interesting tie between youth and experience features Jack Lisowski taking on Stephen Hendry.

The only player not in the top 64 to enter the event is crowd favourite Ronnie O'Sullivan who was replaced by Michael White who was ranked 65 at the time. This no doubt will affect ticket sales at first but because the event was so successful last year hopefully it should still be packed out. Ronnie no doubt wants to be rested for the German Masters which follows shortly after and the £500 appearance fee isn't enough to convince him otherwise.
