Snookerbacker Classic Finals 2012
Â
The event only for amateurs which was set up by Snookerbacker to give them a chance to win the £1000 needed to enter the Q School and perhaps get them on to the main tour to compete with the big boys.
The finals of the event were held at the South West Snooker Academy in Gloucester (full report here) and the last two boys left standing were Ireland's John Sutton and England's Martin O'Donnell.
Both had come through closer encounters earlier on in the day but in the final it was one way traffic as PTC regular O'Donnell came through a comfortable 4-0 winner.
He walks away with the Q School entry, £400 worth of PTC entries in the next season and the Snookerbacker Classic Finals 2012 trophy. O'Donnell still was all smiles at the end though as he gets £1000 for his Q School entry as runner-up.
From what I could see this event was a great success and the unique tournament organisation by Mr & Mrs Snookerbacker brought both smiles and bewilderment to the players faces!
Lets hope the event continues for many years to come as it is a great chance for amateurs to get the funding to persue their dreams of being a professional and get invaluable match practice along the way.
