Find out more about Snooker Ace Judd Trump
Â
Judd Trump looked strong going into this final after having to qualify for the final stages and having only dropped 7 frames on route to the final. But the hot favourite for the title had to be Mark Selby due to his recent form and his position in the rankings but he was to be dissappointed once again and lose in yet another ranking event final as Judd eventually took the £60,000 prize and the China Open trophy with a 10-8 victory.
Both boys were playing high quality Snooker with the both of them making three century breaks each (104, 104, 113 from Judd and 132, 134, 124 from Mark) and some frames of excellent safety play they eventually they found themselves down to 8-8. The last two frames were scrappy as could be expected but Judd pulled away in both and won the match with the help of breaks of 57 and 51 to win the title.
Since joining the main tour in the 2005/2006 season Judd Trump became the third youngest player to qualify for the Crucible in 2007 at the age of 17 he went on to reach the semi-final of the 2008 Grand Prix but since then he hasn't achieved much in the game untill this season. He won the first European Players Tour Championship event in Germany (The Paul Hunter Classic) and did well in the other events but this achievement easily tops all those and will be excited looking towards his Crucible tie with the defending champion Neil Robertson in 12 days.
